1.  How long have you lived in Hazelwood?  (Family)

We started moving in February 1, so just 6 weeks.

2. Where did you live before here?  (Family)

We moved from Alaska, where we lived for 22 years in a small rural area about an hour north of Anchorage.

3. Interesting information about your children and/or pets.

Our son is in his 30s and lives and works in Coeur d'Alene Idaho with his girlfriend and her 10 year old daughter.

Our daughter is late 20s and is an attorney working for an international banking investor. She travels the world and is currently in London. She works so much right now she doesn't have a life.

4.  What's the best part of living in Hazelwood? (Adults & children)

It's been said before that this is a neighborhood, not a subdivision. That is so true. People here are so welcoming.

5.  What's your favorite thing about living in Wilsonville?  Oregon?  (Adults & children)

Beautiful area. Not the traffic around here that we see in other areas. Even with the rain, you can get out and play. We have family in the area, so that is a plus. It felt like home from the first time we pulled into our driveway.

6.  Where did you grow up?  (Adults)

We both grew up in Yuma, Arizona. Our move to the Far North was quite a drastic change from the dessert. Oregon seems somewhere in the middle.

7.   What is your current occupation? (& past if interesting) (Adults)

We are both retired. Phil was a middle and high school principal and vice-principal. Shelley was a nurse and worked mostly in the school system, both elementary and middle school.

8.  What are your interests & hobbies?  (Adults & children)

Phil is the hyperactive member of the family. He likes boating and fishing and anything water sport related and hunting and golf and running and camping and organizing his garage and playing tennis (anybody want a partner?) Shelley prefers to read and walk occasionally and be the "athletic supporter".

9.  What was your best vacation?  (Family)

A few years ago we went to Turks and Caicos with both our adult children and had a wonderful time swimming and snorkeling and sitting on the beach with umbrella drinks.

10.  What is your favorite restaurant?  (Family)

We are still looking for it. The best meal we have had here so far was a Progressive Wine dinner at McMenamin's in Troutdale this last fall.

11.  Do you have any famous, historical or notorious ancestors?

No, we are a pretty boring family.
